Congrats Anne on passing the medical .. wooohoooo
The Shaw trust woman is sort of right , you could be eligible for a return to work credit of £40 per week( Tax free) if you have been claiming ESA for 13 weeks or more (which you have been as the assessment phase is 13 weeks ), you work is over 16 hrs per week and expected to last longer than 5 weeks, and the job pays no more than £15 K a year .
You might also be entitled to Housing Benefit run on (another 4 weeks money) Council Tax run on (4 weeks money) or Support for Mortgage interest (if you get Income Related ESA ).
The above Housing related benefits generally require 6 months on a specified Benefit.
You could also be entitled to Working Tax Credits at 16 hrs rather than 30 hrs dependant on your situation, and a disability element included in the calculation.(which will give you more money)
There is also a job grant , but this again requires 6 months on a specified benefit.
Also be aware of the Access to Work fund , that will pay for equipment etc that you could need to do your job etc.
The Shaw woman should know all of these ..but definitely ask to see them before you start work , and make sure she covers all of the above .
And good luck with the new job .. dont forget if you cannot manage it there are still LINKING rules , so if you cannot handle the job you can go straight back on ESA , again query the Shaw trust about this ..:)
Regards
Rich
